Pada final report Computing Curricula 2001: Computer Science, oleh IEEE/ACM, berdasarkan survey (yang dilakukan oleh National Association of Colleges and Employers, terdapat 10 kualitas pekerja yang dipertimbangkan sangat penting (yang dapat menjadi 10 kualitas yang perlu dikembangkan oleh sarjana informatika) yaitu :

Communication skills (verbal dan written)
Honesty/integrity
Teamwork skills
Interpersonal skills
Motivation/initiative
Strong work ethic
Analytical skills
Flexibility/adaptability
Computer skills
Self-confidence
